Where Do You Find your Sense of Security as a Parent?

November 5, 2019 by Susanne Maynes Leave a Comment

(Guest post by Jameson Maynes) “Can we go to ours new house, momma!? I like my new house!” Two-year-old Lainey shouted triumphantly at me as we were leaving the grocery store. My husband and I recently bought our first home—a nerve-wracking, exciting whirlwind. While the entire process was a lot smoother than either of us ever imagined it could be, there was much sacrifice and prayer that came before we moved into our new home. Besides maintaining my own blog, where I write about church and culture, spiritual Continue Reading

"Get ready for lack of sleep," Courtney warned. "Get ready for temper tantrums. Just wait until they can talk back." Finally, Courtney concluded, "Oh, but I wouldn't trade having kids for anything." The other young woman wondered, Are you sure? Because parenting sounds pretty miserable! If you find yourself experiencing far more stress and hardship than joy in raising children, here's a little secret: It doesn’t have to be Continue Reading
